We are pleased to cordially invite you to participate in the Fourth Edition of the 2026 worldsteel Conference on LCA and Low-carbon Innovation through Value Chain, to be held from September 9 to 11, 2026 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu province, China. The conference is co-hosted by the World Steel Association and CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group.

Against the backdrop of intensifying global climate change and profound adjustments to the international trade landscape, the steel industry—as a cornerstone of the basic materials sector—faces the critical challenge of green transformation, which has become a determining factor in global value chain resilience and the pursuit of a low-carbon future. Under the theme "Partnership Dialogue for a Low-Carbon Future," this conference aims to pool global expertise, foster deep dialogue and practical cooperation across the entire value chain, and drive whole-chain synergy through science-based assessments, charting a viable path toward net-zero emissions.

The conference will bring together senior representatives from international organizations, policy-making bodies, regional coordination authorities, global steel enterprises, steel-using sectors, and leading research institutions. Participants will engage in in-depth, face-to-face discussions on the following key topics:

• Global climate change and steel industry transition – challenges and pathways toward global mutual recognition of carbon footprint methodologies

• Corporate carbon footprint accounting, supply chain collaboration, and carbon labeling practices

• Value chain partnership across the automotive, construction, home appliances and energy sectors driving low-carbon steel procurement

• Green trade policies (e.g., Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, CBAM) and the development of China’s carbon market

• Near-zero carbon emission demonstration projects, green finance, and renewable energy applications
