I am delighted to invite you, along with worldsteel's Indian members, to New Delhi for our General Assembly 2026.

Our programme begins on Sunday evening with a Welcome Reception, kindly sponsored by the Jindal Family.

The General Assembly will officially commence on Monday morning with Opening Session A, followed by Session B | The state of the markets, which will examine India's economic prospects within the broader global context. This discussion will be complemented by the presentation of the October 2026 Short Range Outlook (SRO), worldsteel’s forecast for global steel demand through to the end of 2027.

Day 1 will conclude with Session C | The challenge of Blast Furnace decarbonisation focusing on regional approaches to decarbonisation and expectations for future progress across the industry.

The evening's Annual Dinner & Steelie Awards Ceremony, kindly hosted by our Indian members, will take place at the Sundry Nursery.

Day 2 will begin with Session D | The steel market opportunities in global construction featuring an overview of key initiatives undertaken by constructsteel. The session will also discuss steel as a driver for efficient and sustainable construction.

Session E | Repositioning steel: sustainability, talent, skills and reputation will examine findings from research conducted by IPSOS, McKinsey, Oxford and worldsteel, with particular attention to Gen Z perceptions of the steel industry.

The event will conclude with Session F | Annual General Meeting, the formal board meeting of the General Assembly, during which the Board of Members will approve legal and financial matters and welcome new members to the association.

Kindly note that the Executive Committee meeting will be held on the Sunday preceding the General Assembly. In addition, the following auxiliary meetings are scheduled and require separate registration through their respective registration sites:
